The "P" in this design was inspired by the Book of Kells. The design was done in batik and is then screenprinted for a long-lasting design.

Batik has a very ancient look and feel to it. We think it fits well with our exclusive "Peace" tee shirt, and it comes in long sleeve or short sleeve.

Batik always delivers lots of surprises in its development - in our Peace Shirt, there was an "eye" that we noticed had developed in the cross part of the P as we were rinsing out the final dyebath. It was not part of the original design, but it just wanted to "be" there! This happens a lot in doing batik - I always say a batik is 50% what I wanted it to be and 50% what it wanted to be.

This design is screenprinted on 100% cotton heavyweight (6 oz.) long and short sleeve tee shirts. The shirt color is *maize which is an earthy pale yellow - really quite striking. This style is on pigment dyed shirts and will not shrink.
