About The Shirts

All of my designs are done originally in batik on cotton fabric, silk or even japanese rice paper from sketches. The finished batik is then scanned into the computer and the image is converted to the necessary formats for screen printers to make screen separations.

These exclusive designs are screenprinted on heavyweight 100% cotton tee shirts and sweatshirts using what is called 'simulated process screen printing' - a technique that can use up to 12 colors, but does not make the design feel thick or plastic-y. You can't feel any difference between the design and the shirt. After much research, we found this was the only process to get the detail and colors of each design to portray the intricate characteristics of batik AND leave the shirts as soft and attractive as they truly are.

All of our shirts are 100% cotton - these quality shirts will NEVER PILL (don't you hate that!?) and will always stay soft and comfy for the life of the shirt. You'll have your BatikShirtShop shirt a long time and it will just keep getting better with age!

Unlike some other internet t-shirt vendors, you won't find celtic designs that are simply copied, downloaded, manipulated in Photoshop and slapped on a cheap shirt. Each of our designs starts out as an original BATIK PAINTING done by artist Ruthellen Kellogg. All of our designs come in short sleeve tees, and some also come in either long sleeve tee shirts and thick, comfy sweatshirts. Many of our designs are on pigment dyed tees and sweats for that pre-washed look, and won't shrink.

Sizing

We carry sizes from Small to 2XL in all of our designs to accommodate everyone looking for cool short sleeve tees, long sleeve tees and sweatshirts. Occasionally, some sizes may sell out in certain designs. If you are looking for a certain size (even smaller or bigger) - let us know and we can custom order any shirt. We can notify you when we are reordering, and order any size/style shirt you want in any design on any color!
